Here's what documents you can use to verify your ClapPay account.
Accepted ID Documents
Passport
✅ Accepted from all countries
Requirements:
- Must be valid (not expired)
- Machine-readable zone (MRZ) must be visible
- Photo page must be clear
Driver's License
✅ Accepted from most countries
Requirements:
- Must be valid (not expired)
- Must have your photo
- Front and back required
- Must show date of birth
National ID Card
✅ Accepted from supported countries
Requirements:
- Must be government-issued
- Must be valid (not expired)
- Front and back required
- Must have your photo
Residence Permit
✅ Accepted for some countries
Requirements:
- Must be valid (not expired)
- Must be government-issued
- Must have your photo
Documents NOT Accepted

❌ Photocopies or screenshots

❌ Work IDs or employee badges
❌ Temporary or paper documents
❌ Damaged or illegible documents
Proof of Address (If Required)
Some features require proof of address:
Accepted Documents
- Utility bill (electricity, gas, water) - less than 3 months old
- Bank statement - less than 3 months old
- Government letter - less than 3 months old
- Tax document - current year

- Must show your full name
- Must show your full address
- Must be dated within 3 months
- Must be from an official source
Tips for Document Photos
Good Photo
- Full document visible
- All corners in frame
- Text is readable
- Good lighting
- No glare or shadows
- Flat surface
Bad Photo
- Blurry or out of focus
- Parts of document cut off
- Glare covering text
- Too dark or too bright
- Tilted or angled
