Business Verification Requirements

Setting up a business account on ClapPay requires additional verification. Here's what you need.

Business Types We Support

  • Sole proprietorship
  • Partnership
  • Limited Liability Company (LLC)
  • Corporation
  • Non-profit organization

Required Information

Business Details

  • Legal business name
  • Business type (LLC, Corp, etc.)
  • Industry/business category
  • Business address
  • Business phone number
  • Website (if applicable)
  • Tax ID (EIN in US, or equivalent)

Owner/Director Information

For each person who owns 25% or more of the business:

  • Full legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Government ID

Required Documents

For All Businesses

  1. Business registration document
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Articles of Organization
  • Business license
  1. Proof of business address
  • Utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Lease agreement

For Corporations and LLCs

  1. Ownership documents
  • Operating agreement (LLC)
  • Shareholder register (Corp)
  1. Board resolution (if applicable)
  • Authorizing ClapPay account opening

For Sole Proprietors

  • Business license or registration
  • Personal ID
  • Proof of address

Owner Verification

Each beneficial owner (25%+ ownership) must:

  1. Provide personal ID
  2. Complete selfie verification
  3. Confirm their details

Verification Process

Step 1: Start Business Verification

Go to Settings → Verification → Business or upgrade from Personal.

Step 2: Enter Business Information

Fill in your business details and upload documents.

Step 3: Add Owners

Add information for all beneficial owners.

Step 4: Submit for Review

Our team will review your application.

Step 5: Approval

You'll receive an email once approved (typically 1-3 business days).

After Approval

Once verified, your business can:

  • Accept customer payments
  • Send invoices
  • Access higher limits
  • Add team members
  • Use business features

Common Issues

Application delayed?

  • Missing or unclear documents
  • Incomplete owner information
  • Additional verification needed

Application rejected?

  • Business type not supported
  • Documents don't match
  • Prohibited industry

If rejected, you'll receive an explanation and can reapply with correct information.
