What Is Tap to Pay?

Accept card payments without extra hardware:

• Customer taps card on your phone
• Payment processed instantly
• No card reader needed

Requirements

iPhone

• iPhone XS or newer
• iOS 16 or later
• US, UK, or supported country
• Business account

Android

• Android 10 or later
• NFC-enabled device
• Supported country
• Business account

Setting Up Tap to Pay

Step 1: Enable Feature

1. Open ClapPay app
2. Go to Settings → Payments
3. Tap Tap to Pay
4. Follow setup wizard

Step 2: Verify Business

Business verification required:

• Confirm business details
• Accept terms
• Enable feature

Step 3: Ready to Accept

You'll see "Tap to Pay" in your app menu.

Accepting a Payment

Step 1: Enter Amount

1. Open Tap to Pay
2. Enter the amount
3. Add description (optional)

Step 2: Customer Taps

1. Hand phone to customer (or hold it out)
2. Customer taps their card
3. Card touches back of phone

Step 3: Payment Complete

• See confirmation
• Receipt sent automatically
• Funds in your account

What Cards Work?

• Contactless credit/debit cards
• Apple Pay
• Google Pay
• Samsung Pay
• Other mobile wallets

Card must have contactless symbol (📶).

• Hold phone steady
• Customer taps back of phone
• Keep cases thin

Environment

• Works indoors and outdoors
• No internet? Offline mode available
