When a customer disputes a charge with their bank:

How It Works

- You submit evidence
- Bank decides
- If you lose, $15 fee charged

Avoiding Chargeback Fees
The best way to avoid fees is to prevent chargebacks:
- Clear billing descriptor
- Customers recognize charges
- Great customer service
- Resolve issues before they escalate
- Easy refund policy
- Refunds are cheaper than disputes
- Fraud prevention
- Use Radar to block fraud
High Chargeback Rates
If your chargeback rate exceeds:
- 0.75%: Warning notification
- 1%: Account review
- 2%: Additional fees or account action
Refund Fees
Refunding a customer:
- Percentage fee: Returned to you
- Fixed fee: Not returned ($0.30)
- No additional refund fee

Original charge: $100 (fee: $3.20)
Refund issued:
- $2.90 returned (percentage)
- $0.30 kept (fixed fee)
