Dispute and Chargeback Fees

Fees that apply when customers dispute payments.

Chargeback Fee

When a customer disputes a charge with their bank:

How It Works

  1. Customer disputes charge with bank
  2. We notify you
  3. You submit evidence
  4. Bank decides
  5. If you lose, $15 fee charged

Why the Fee?

The chargeback fee covers:

  • Administrative costs
  • Bank fees charged to us
  • Investigation resources

Avoiding Chargeback Fees

The best way to avoid fees is to prevent chargebacks:

  1. Clear billing descriptor
  • Customers recognize charges
  1. Great customer service
  • Resolve issues before they escalate
  1. Easy refund policy
  • Refunds are cheaper than disputes
  1. Fraud prevention
  • Use Radar to block fraud

High Chargeback Rates

If your chargeback rate exceeds:

  • 0.75%: Warning notification
  • 1%: Account review
  • 2%: Additional fees or account action

Refund Fees

Refunding a customer:

  • Percentage fee: Returned to you
  • Fixed fee: Not returned ($0.30)
  • No additional refund fee

Example

Original charge: $100 (fee: $3.20)

Refund issued:

  • $2.90 returned (percentage)
  • $0.30 kept (fixed fee)

Disputing the Dispute Fee

If you believe a chargeback fee was charged in error:

  1. Contact support
  2. Provide transaction details
  3. We'll review
